My Sister's Buddy

My sister has a dog named Buddy. Thats him above... Isnt he cute?

I really love this dog. We've had the pleasure of doggy sitting him a few times and he is a saint. There is something so regal about Buddy... actually today my sister and I were commenting on his elegant posture and were both reminded of Simba's dad, Mufassa in the Lion King (only for the life of us we couldnt remember the name Mufassa... but when I went to type this it came to me in a second, dont you hate that?) Buddy also has this adorably jaunty walk that is half big-tuff-guy-strut and half drag-queen-prance.

We dont know much about Buddy's past but at certain times you can see the weight of it on his shoulders....
He's been around the block a few times and has the scars to prove it.... (see the scar below his eye? It extends down around his cheek.)
But Buddy is a dog with a beautiful spirit and a joy de vive! He is no spring chicken but he still plays like a puppy...
And his exuberant personality is infectious....

In dogs as in humans, sometimes the little guy gets picked on. But Hunter has a bad case of small man's syndrome and doesnt take it laying down. In these pictures he is actually trying to nip at Buddy and Hawky at the same time...

You can see how seriously Buddy and Hawk are taking him. You can almost hear them laughing and saying, "Check out this little guy! Yack yack yack, bring it on Pippy!"
God, I LOVE dogs!

  2. I love goldens - they are such great dogs.

If only dogs could talk - I'm sure they'd have such stories to tell us...

  7. Yes! Muffasa exactly!

Looks like Larry, Moe and Curly in that last photo. lol!
So, does Hunter have a Napoleon Complex?
We had a papillon with the same thing and she acted like she was tougher than she was....but she really wasn't tough at all. lol!

One time some people were on the sidewalk walking and our Papillon ran out after them barking and yipping.
Suddenly she stopped, turned and looked to see if our german shepherd was right behind her (her security blanket) and when she realized our gsd wasn't there, she turned, tail tucked between her legs, and ran back into our garage. lol!
