I am DONE!!! Finished! Finito! What, you ask? My latest portrait, that's what! I just had to share because this portrait was one I was really excited about doing it- first because the subjects are so beautiful; second because the commissioner is an artist and so can can appreciate the composition and lastly because I drew the portrait using photos I took myself....and I also just happen to be pretty happy with the finished piece, which is not common for me.
This is a photo of the piece.... the color is not right and some of the depth has been lost and the... *sigh*... you get the idea....
OOOOOOHHHHH!!!!! I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteexcellent, well done and bravo!
I see that framed in an english walnut frame with a leather mat, with a thin red undermat.
Really lovely - congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!! That's gorgeous!! I have no talent to draw anything at all. It's so hard for me to fathom that some people can just pick up pen or pencil and draw something so beautiful. Really...absolutely beautiful!! I like the first commentor's idea about framing and matting. Do you need my mailing address, or do you still have it?? :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That's beautiful. You are a blogger, a writer, and an artist?! I'm impressed. That's a lot of talent.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteYou are an excellent artist!
Lovely, you've captured their spirit and form...
ReplyDelete*Sigh* It IS gorgeous! I wish I had one tenth your talent in anything.
ReplyDeleteSome day, I'll have to have you do Casey. I just don't have any great photos of him yet.
Awesome!!!!!!! That is fantastic work!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is really beautiful! Love your picture and love your blog:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Wow - that is awesome! As someone who can't even draw a stick figure horse, I can really see the work/talent that went into that piece.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have you do a potrait of Rusty someday - but you'd have to take some creative license to make him look that majestic! lol (and maybe add in a mane and forelock! lol)
Beautiful! What a wonderful job you have done. I am sure your client was overwhelmed. You should have your work in galleries, if you don't already. I am in awe my fellow artist.

ReplyDeleteW.O.W.
ReplyDeleteSuch detail! You communicate the musculature of the horse so well.
Just beautiful!

W-O-W! That is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow...very nice. There is so much depth and texture...they pop right off the paper. Next year I will have to meet you at The Mane Event...I didn't know any blogger buds would be there. You can always come down for the big one in March...the NW Horse Expo in Albany, OR...that is usually pretty good.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing.
ReplyDeleteC-That is absolutely breathtaking!! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteUhm....or you are too critical! Girl that is AWESOME!!! I love it, I would buy it!! Can you do my horse?
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, you are SO talented C! They look so real, your attention to detail is amazing! ;) I hope you have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had known you back when my old App was alive. You would have been the perfect one to do his portrait.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have memories- but nothing as stunning as this. Thank you for sharing it with us! (And maybe someday, we'll talk and have Sonny horse done!)
THANK YOU!!!!! SOOOO much everyone! It is great to have your support:)
ReplyDeleteI think I was involved in horsey drama when you posted this, but I just have to say: girl, you have an amazing gift.
