Two boys wrestling! Doggy style.....

What?!! That title is totally appropriate! What where you thinking? Sicko! These two boys, my Hawkydog and Mom's Hunter had a blast yesterday wrestling on the lawn. It was all fun and games at first but then things got a little out of hand ....

Hunter insists that he is totally innocent and that it was big ol' fat Hawkydog who started the whole thing...

They were just having fun wrestling.....

When all of the sudden Hawky started using his recent weight gain to create an unfair advantage....
*** Hawk would like me to mention that the camera adds 10 pounds and that he is actually caring a lot of water weight right now....**
In exhibit "D", Hunter would like you to note that he would be the brownish blob located directly under Hawks bodacious bulk!

and he would prefer that Exhibit "E" be struck from the record as there is no need for the public to know of the various ways he was assaulted!

Here is where things became serious....Hunter claims that had a nightmare last night about looking up into that face!! I think we need a close up....

Oh my!! But Hunter found his inner "force" and used his slim and limber young body to wrestle out from under the Sumo dog....

Hawk is stunned that he has lost his hold!!!

The close up...

They face off for another go....

Go Hunter! Float like a butterfly! Sting like a bee!!

But Hawky starts to feel a little tired. Its tough being a fatty....

Hawky starts to wonder, "Hmm...how do I gracefully get out of this without admitting defeat?:

"I know!! I will pretend I see something in the distance that needs our immediate attention!!"

And Hunter falls for it! Hook, line and sinker! and all is forgotten and forgiven! After all, these two are like brothas' from another motha'! And, Hawky already learned what can happen when you let things go a little to far....there was that incident with cousin Buddy last year....It also started as just fun and games...
But Buddy is a tough ol' guy off the streets and doesn't take no crap from silly little blue boys that like to think they are tough!

Hawky took offense.....
And decided on going for the "swallow his head" tactic!
Buddy and Hawk, both being mature and sensible adult men were able to overcome their differences. I mean, come on! Who couldn't forgive a face like this...

Love you Hawkydog!!

  1. That is hilarious. Your mom's blue heeler is so stocky!! (water weight or not, lol) Our female is almost 8 years old and she is so slim. She is starting to gain a little weight, but she's still a lot smaller than most other heelers we see. Aren't they hilarious. We have three dogs, all about 8 years old. My Catahoula Leopard is the player. You say ball and she's off. The Blue Heeler heels the Catahoula. She could care less about the ball, she wants some legs flying to chase around. They are both about 40lbs of muscle mass. Then there's our mastif akita, who at 150 lbs (and too fat to try to run and chase the ball so she just tries to grab one of the other dogs as they run by where she is sitting) you wouldn't think the other two would want to mess with, but the player thinks everyone wants to play and she's just about gotten her ear taken off a few times. Little chunks are missing here and there. Aren't dogs wonderful and entertaining? I've too seen a few of those gnarly teeth faces.

  3. Ezra- actually the blue (Hawkydog) is mine. He is the love of my life (DB too of course) and such an amazing dog. He has a degenerative spine disease that keeps him from being able to run the amount that he needs to keep a decent weight. He is SUCH an easy keeper that we have to keep him on a 40% reduced fat diet (and NO treats) and he is still fat! When he was really fit and trim he weighed 65 pounds. He is probably pushing 80 right now. I want to (and the vet) get him to 72. He is actually a VERY well bred dog (his Dad was the #2 ACD in the country when he was bred and his granparents are all finished champions). Hawk LIVES for his B-A-L-L. Seriously, he would follow it over a cliff.

I LOVE Catahoulas. They are such neat dogs and SO strong. It is funny that your blue is not a freak about balls (most blues are). MastiffxAkita? WOW that would be one tough puppy. I had an Akita cross once and have always wanted a Mastiff but I hate that big dogs dont live as long and beceome old so early after taking forever to mature! lol

I couldnt live without a dog...I think they are the greatest creatures in the world (sorry, I love horses too but they cant snuggle up in bed and kiss your face when you cry.) I am actually looking for a blue puppy right now and hope to find one before the end of September.

  4. Well Mom's back

The water weight is my line btw, it applies to every part of my body, including my triple D's, lol!

Hawk is an incedibly well built, well behaved dog, much like my daughter!! Ahhhh....that would be the well built part, the well behaved jury is still out....her DB is doing a great job of keeping her inline!

They used to have two ridgebacks and her DB takes the credit for the training with them, they were wonderful dogs, would charm you to death but NEVER take a step towards her or her DB that wasn't anticipated, if they reacted they would immediately obey on command to retreat. Hawky dog is everything she says, and yes she loves the cuddles and kisses as does her DB btw...The dogs are a joy to watch and thanks to my DD, my dog is almost as good as hers in obedience, well in my mind anyway, he is. Thanks to her Hunter was the perfect choice has he has been everything and more that I could want in another member of the family, he too kisses and cuddles and doesn't talk back the way hers truely does!

    Love you honey

  5. OMG-You have my Red Dog in a blue coat-LMAO. My fatty will also go over a cliff for a ball..any ball! He goes after his ball and my heeler/border cross heels him. They are such a hoot and I can't imagine my days without them to amuse me.

  6. Around here we get to watch Comet VS Misty (black lab X ? and golden retriever X rottie) Or Chloe VS Lola (siamese and ragdoll)
Poor Lola doesn't stand a chance, she's bigger than Chloe but Chloe is older, wiser, has more attitude and is solid muscle.
What's funniest is Chloe VS Comet. A little 12 lb kitty chasing a big 115 lb lab cross through the house! lol

  7. Sorry, I was trying to get who's dog it was right and second guessed myself. Was right the first time! lol. Well, if your Hawkydog wants a playmate, my Lily (the Catahoula) is there for him. For some reason, all 4 other dogs we've ever had, cannot stand her. She's the most playfull and loving best dog, but if she looks at the others when they weren't in the mood, it was/is bareteeth and growling and her turning around with her head down. I always feel so bad for her and end up playing toss with her for hours. lol You are right about being strong. she's an escape artist too! If there is a hole big enough to get a leg through, she is GONE. We never had to kid proof anything, just Lily proof. When we lived in the country, she'd disappear for 2-3 days and come back muddy and matted (and smelly) from her hunting expeditions.

Ours get no treats either, especially big dog. She probably eats the same exact amount, if not less sometimes, than the little ones and she's still over weight. I think you are right about the big dogs, their joints just start giving in too early. She spends most of her days lounging and letting my little boys mess with her. They love to brush and put dirt on her to make sand storms(long story, lol). When we first got her, she attempted to be a lap dog, until she tried laying on my lap and I couldn't breath. lol She weighs more than I do.

Our heeler came from working parents, but she's never worked anything in her life except our Lily. And she tries the kids, but they don't like that much.

  11. Hawkeye is a handsome boy! we had a Cattle Dog for five years, but ended up having to give him back to his breeder-thank goodness she gladly took him!-because when we moved into town, he BARKED non-stop and we couldn't risk annoying our neighbors too much.

He was kind of a strange Cattle Dog too...more like a Lab in Cattle Dog clothing. Even though he drove me nuts, I still miss him, but I get to drive by and see him out with her other CD's. I don't get out though, or I would probably have a break down and take him back!

Great shots of all of those little doggies! :)
